Ghana’s current president and flag bearer of the NPP, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has began his tour of the country. He was in the Ashanti Region from Monday, 28th September 2020 to 30th September 2020. Whilst he was there, he commissioned a Kasapreko factory, visited the Asantehene and did so many other things. His next destination was the Eastern Region where he would spend the next 4 days, from Thursday, 1st October to Sunday 4th October.
Beginning his tour at the Eastern Region, he went to Nkawkaw, one of the most popular towns in Ghana. Yes, he was met with a heavy crowd amidst jubilations. But one thing caught my eye. The roads to the place are all dusty and untarred. The whole place was muddy as it had rained. The people seemed not to mind but this was a big shame.
2020 according to him was to be a year of roads. This promise has been abysmally done. It seems the promise was to some selected places. The road to Nkawkaw was very muddy. So what was the essence of the year of roads.
